Hospitality company InterContinental Malta has named Tracey Bolton as its new Cluster Director of Sales and Marketing. While the announcement was made on Tuesday, she started working in her new role in March.

She brings over two decades of experience in the luxury hotel and tourism industry, together with “exceptional strategic thinking and interpersonal skills” to the company’s team.

“Her passion for leading, inspiring and developing her team in order to achieve and exceed the business’s vision is sure to make a lasting impact on InterContinental Malta and Holiday Inn Express Malta. We’re excited to have her on board,” the management said.

Prior to her new role, she worked as Director of Sales Marketing at Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts’ Caldeira (Portugal) and Mozambique hotels.

She has previously worked at InterContinental Hotels Group plc (IHG), the group that both InterContinental Malta and Holiday Inn Express Malta are part of, having served as Cluster Director of Sales and Marketing at InterContinental Phoenicia Beirut and Le Vendome Beirut, two of the group’s hotels in Lebanon.

Ms Bolton has also served as Director of Sales and Marketing at Radisson Blu Gautrain Hotel and Head of Sales and Marketing at Extraordinary, both in South Africa, among other positions at other establishments.

Commenting on her appointment, IHG Malta Cluster General Manager Carlos Malliaroudakis said that he is “so glad” to have her on board, noting that she is a “great addition” to the group.

“I wish you all the best for the future. Your experience and personality will certainly be a plus,” he added.

Ms Bolton holds a National Diploma in Travel and Tourism, Tourism and Travel Services Manager from Nelson Mandela University, and over the years has become particularly skilled and polished in interpersonal skills, strategic capability, out of the box thinking, and “the capacity to translate the marketing strategy into reality”.

InterContinental Malta, which hosts 481 bedrooms, six restaurants and six bars, opened its doors in 2003. It forms part of IHG plc, a UK-based multinational hospitality company that operates more than 6,000 hotels under a number of brands in over 100 countries.
