Anton Buttigieg

TradeMalta CEO Anton Buttigieg announced his appointment as Vice President of the Board at Trade Promotion Europe (TPE).

In this capacity he will be working with Anne Lanigan at Enterprise Ireland who has been elected President, Vasso Kyrkou at Enterprise Greece SA, Jan Offner at Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT) and Marta Valero at ICEX.

Mr Buttigieg thanked former Board President Tonia Van de Vyver and former Board Vice President Philippe Yvergniaux for their contribution.

TPE is a non-profit association of national and regional trade and agri-food promotion organisations, whose goal is to strengthen European trade through better coordination and information sharing.

Founded in 2018 and headquartered in Brussels, it serves as the voice of these organisations in speaking with European institutions, especially with regard to matters pertaining to the design and implementation of trade promotion policies. Currently, TPE counts 27 European trade promotion member organisations from 19 countries.

Mr Buttigieg has been CEO at TradeMalta for over seven years, throughout which he helped shape the trade promotion strategy which supports Malta-based businesses to internationalise and become export-ready.

Prior to joining TradeMalta, he served as Director at Business Leaders Malta, as Business Development and Administration Manager at Panta Marketing & Services Ltd, as Management Consultant at MISCO and also as Economist at Central Bank of Malta.
