Henri Saliba, Managing Director of Virtu Ferries, was knighted as part of the Ordine della Stella d’Italia (the Order of the Italian Star) by the President of the Republic of Italy Sergio Mattarella.
This honour was conferred upon Mr Saliba in appreciation of his contribution to Maltese – Italian co-operation. Fabrizio Romano, the Italian Ambassador to Malta, presented the honour to Mr Saliba on 29th July 2021.
“The Embassy collaborates with Virtu Ferries regularly and has on all occasions been able to count on the essential support of Henri Saliba,” Mr Romano said.
Mr Saliba was appointed General Manager of Virtu Ferries in 1993, Member of the Board of Directors in 1999, and Managing Director in 2009.
“Thanks to the important positions held within Virtu Ferries, Henri Saliba has established and maintained an excellent working relationship, on behalf of the Maltese shipping company, with the Embassy and with the Italian Military Mission in Malta,” the Italian Ambassador concluded.
The Shareholders, Directors, and Staff of Virtu Ferries congratulated Mr Saliba on his achievement.
This event brought together leading international speakers, innovators, and BOV’s in-house experts.
He has served as Director of the bank’s Belgian subsidiary, MeDirect Bank S.A., since January 2021.
