The Maltese branch of multinational healthcare company Baxter will be expanding its operations by 10 per cent, therein creating around 50 new jobs.

The expansion was announced yesterday during a press conference presided over by Baxter Malta Managing Director Brian Tabone and Energy and Enterprise Minister Miriam Dalli.

Throughout 2020, Baxter Malta, with aid from Malta Enterprise, had expanded its operations by an initial 20 per cent. This means that the company has grown its operations by a total of 30 per cent since 2020.

“Baxter fully believes in employee talent so it’s always looking to provide its employees with the best conditions. The company has even received an award for promoting work-life balance,” Mr Tabone said.

The Managing Director explained how Baxter Malta presently employs around 600 employees in a variety of sectors including but not limited to engineering, manufacturing, and research and development.

“Baxter is a company that recognises the importance of sustainable operations. It has a target to reduce its energy consumption by three per cent every year and it’s continuously looking to become more energy efficient,” Ms Dalli said.

Baxter has been operating locally for the past 30 years. It specialises in the manufacturing of plastic products used in hospitals and clinics around the world.
