Joe Tanti

Malta Business Bureau CEO Joe Tanti believes it’s vital that business leaders “ensure [they] foster a positive and engaging work environment.”

In the final instalment of its ‘#MeetMBBTeam’ series, the Malta Business Bureau interviewed its CEO about his experience at the organization.

“My greatest satisfaction has been giving young university graduates the opportunity to develop themselves and shape a new future for the organization,” Mr Tanti recalled.

The MBB CEO has held his present position for over 12 years. Prior to this role, Mr Tanti served as the Head of Human Resources Development at the Malta Tourism Authority for upwards of eight years.

When asked what advice he’d give to young people, Mr Tanti suggested they “pursue a career [they] love.”

“Work takes up a lot of your time, so it is worth making the very best of it,” he said.

“Most importantly, I encourage our young people to grab the chance to go abroad and broaden their horizons whenever they get the opportunity and bring back home what they have learned,” he continued.

Mr Tanti is a big fan of travelling – so much so that if he had to write a book about his life, he’d call it ‘Travel gives you a story to tell’.

“My experiences living and working in Switzerland, the UK, and Ireland have heavily influenced my perspectives and the life decisions that I make,” he said.

“Career-wise, these enriching experiences have enabled me to widen my professional network and continue re-inventing myself,” he highlighted.

The MBB CEO also had some interesting insights for business leaders…

“We need to ensure that we foster a positive and engaging work environment,” he said.

“This in turn, will greatly influence employees’ attitude towards their job and productivity levels,” Mr Tanti concluded.
